Jogging in La Rambla, Barcelona

Jogging in La Rambla, Barcelona [enlarge]

Jogging in Las Ramblas de Barcelona is so difficult that instead of that we should call it dribbling or slalom. On the other hand, stubborn athletes you can find all year long in any part of the world. I don't know, you are in the middle of a safari in Africa and suddenly you see a jogger waving at you right behind the lions. An old man is being mugged in a dark suburban street and a person in a hooded sweater passes by swiftly as a ghost in a Japanese horror movie, probably so isolated in their thoughts following a podcast on the benefits of sports that they inadvertently end up in the most transited and smoggy street of the city. In this case, there was some kind of cosmic impasse and for some milliseconds there was no one near the jogger, probably due to the use of a special force field or protective shield invisible to the human eye. Come to think of it, she was just a lucky tourist on the wrong street.

Beach Volley at Premiá de Mar, Maresme, Barcelona

Beach Volley at Premiá de Mar, Maresme, Barcelona [enlarge]

For sports fans, especially for beach volley enthusiasts I happened to take this picture recently while I was sitting in a bar terrace by the beach - Premiá de Mar, Maresme Coast near Barcelona. The color picture was fine but didn't convince me much so I used this sepia toned choice. I hope you like the moment. He smashed it if that's what you are wondering now.

Skateboarding in Barcelona

Skateboarding in Barcelona [enlarge]

Experience has taught me that I shouldn't talk about modern trends be it in music, fashion, hobbies or sports. Why? Well, I simply get too old for that. I am only 44 but there are things I am not prepared to understand just because I was born and raised in the 60s. Gosh, ancient history now! There are specially a couple of posts I sadly remember too well, one was about a jacket with a logo that read "social distortion" and the other was about "ska". I won't bring the issue back though. It was just an example of how can a middle-aged man screw things up when it comes to young people's stuff. This elusive preface will be my alibi to tiptoe over today's picture: Skateboarding in Barcelona. The only thing I can tell you for sure is that the photograph was taken at the beach in Barcelona.
